Friday, July 03, 2026
Yadavindra Public School proudly congratulates Arnav Joura of Class IX on his extraordinary achievement of successfully completing the English Channel Crossing from England to France as part of a six-member relay team on 03 July 2026.
The team covered the distance in 13 hours and 5 minutes, overcoming freezing 15°-17 C waters, powerful and unpredictable currents, and challenging marine conditions. The relay began at 1:33 AM and concluded at 2:38 PM. At just 14 years of age, Arnav was the youngest member of the relay team and is believed to be the youngest swimmer from Punjab to have successfully completed the English Channel Relay, one of the world’s most demanding open-water swimming challenges.
Arnav’s remarkable accomplishment is the result of years of unwavering dedication, discipline, and perseverance. Having started swimming at the age of five, he underwent rigorous preparation, including qualifying swims in Bengaluru and Naini Lake, Nainital, before earning the opportunity to take on this iconic challenge.
The school also extends its heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Srikaanth Viswanathan, Founder and Head Coach of Dreams To Live Academy, Bengaluru, whose expert guidance, meticulous training, and constant encouragement played a pivotal role in shaping Arnav into a world-class open-water swimmer. His commitment to nurturing young talent has been instrumental in this remarkable success.
The Yadavindra Public School family congratulates Arnav Joura, his proud parents, and Coach Srikaanth Viswanathan on this historic achievement. Arnav’s inspiring journey reflects the values of determination, resilience, and excellence, motivating young students to dream big and pursue their goals with dedication.
We wish Arnav continued success as he scales even greater heights in the world of swimming and proudly represents India on the global stage.
