Co-Curricular Activities
The feature that distinguishes YPS from other schools is that it being a Day Cum Boarding School, the extra hours are well utilized to enrich a student's personality. These hours are employed to introduce a plethora of activities both co-curricular and extra-curricular.
At YPS and there is a calendar year full of Inter House Co-Curricular activities. With the belief that effective communication and public speaking skills are the need of the hour, the student’s are encouraged to participate in a host of activities. The activities are based on Literary, General knowledge, Multimedia, Speaking and Debate.
Throughout the year, Students take part in Intra-Class, Inter-House and Inter - School activities. From a number of Literary events, such as Spelling Bee, Essay Writing, Debates and Declamations, Literary Competitions and Poetry Recitations, to Participation in House Plays, students are constantly honing their skills and engaging themselves in healthy competitive spirit. The School actively participates in several IPSC events held across the country, such as MUN, Music, GK Quiz, Visual Art, Students conclaves etc. giving the Students a wide range of exposure.
Other aspects of Co-curricular involve Quizzing, both in spheres of General Knowledge as well as in Computers. The Math Olympiad sharpens the mathematical skills of knowledge backed with speed and accuracy. Showcasing the aesthetic talent of the children, the thematic Inter house Music & the open-house talent hunt competition is a yearly event that is much looked forward to. These events not only focus on language or subject competency but also on the development of integrity, teamwork and strength of character, the ultimate aim of a good public school education.
The School has an NCC unit which started in 2014. Students of classes VIII to X can voluntarily enroll for NCC. The School has a dedicated instructor for NCC and training is imparted through 3 Punjab(I) COY, NCC Ropar. The Students are awarded 'A' certificate on successful completion.
