CURRICULUM

YPS is a Co-Educational Day cum Boarding and partly residential School from Class Nursery to XII. It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE), New Delhi till Class X, and to the Indian School Certificate (ISC) for Class XII.

The School adopts a broad curriculum in accordance with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 based on principles of access, equity, quality and accountability.  

YPS provides the most comprehensive, holistic and progressive curriculum, structure and environment for the child to learn and grow. A well-balanced calendar and timetable lays emphasis on all key areas of both scholastic and co-scholastic disciplines. We offer a well-rounded academic curriculum that covers a range of subjects. Along with the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, we also offer classes in Computer Science, Physical Education, Art, Music, and Foreign languages. 

Being a Day-boarding, we follow a long day curriculum. Besides Academics, emphasis is also laid on games and sports, co-curricular activities, hobbies, visual and performing arts, tours and treks. An important and distinct part of our curriculum is our beyond School engagements and outbound programmes. Our Students get the exposure to visit and compete with the best of Schools in the region and the country. Our outbound programmes include international exposure through exchange programmes and educational and recreational tours.

Our curriculum is enquiry based, discovery based and analysis based and is designed to provide students with a broad foundation of knowledge and skills that will prepare them for success in all areas of life. We promote critical & divergent thinking, problem-solving, reasoning and creativity, while also instilling life skills, values and attitudes. Our teachers are passionate and knowledgeable about their subject areas, and seek to groom and inspire all our students. 

The School aims at the all-round growth and development of the students and strives to inculcate in them a positive, healthy, physical, social, emotional and intellectual attitude. Emphasis is laid on development of skills and application of knowledge. We promote experiential learning activities and hands on approach that allow students to actively engage in their own learning process. All this helps them to connect their experience and knowledge to the current world understanding.

The School has an effective house allocation system which helps mentor Students. Both day boarders and boarders are allocated houses.

The School has state-of-the-art infrastructure to facilitate and support its 360º curriculum. We have a spacious campus with well-furnished academic blocks and a vast sports complex. Technology and sports form an integral part of our curriculum. Our classrooms are digitally equipped and with latest state-of-the-art Interactive equipment. We have well-equipped computer labs, science labs, discovery rooms, resource centres and a robotics lab. Our sports complex is international standard and has facilities to support more than 15 sports disciplines. It is one of its kind in the region. We have ample facilities to support our co-scholastic disciplines and activities.
