Event Highlights: YPS MOHALI – ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS WORKSHOP

PROTECTING OUR HOME…OUR WORLD

 

A highly engaging and impactful workshop on “Environmental Concerns in Modern Times and What Students Can Do” was held on 08 May 2025, led by Ms. Ridhima Pandey, one of India’s youngest and most influential climate activists. Known globally for her environmental advocacy, Ridhima gained international recognition when she joined hands with Swedish activist Greta Thunberg to file a petition with the United Nations against countries failing to combat climate change.

 

Ms. Pandey spoke passionately about pressing environmental issues such as global warming, pollution, deforestation, and rising carbon emissions, breaking them down in a way that was easy for students to understand. Drawing from her own experience as a young activist, she encouraged students to believe in their ability to make a difference and explained how youth movements across the world are shaping environmental policy and awareness.
