Yadavindra Public School, S A S Nagar, Mohali staged ‘Holka Polka – A Fairy Tale Mystery’ on October 16, 2014 at Post Graduate College for Girls, Sector 42, Chandigarh. The play was enacted by 132 students, complemented by a melodious Choir and a talented dance troupe.

The play revolves around, Brenda, ably enacted by Esha Uppal who is the nicest witch in Fairytale Land. The witches discover that the Prince has been put under a sleeping spell, and they are blamed for it.  So Brenda embarks on a journey to save all the witches’ reputation by saving the Prince. Enroute, she meets some familiar but misunderstood characters, namely a friendly wolf (Aarav Bhardwaj), Cindy (Sehaj Tiwana) and Pinnochio (Aaditya) who help her in her mission.  Fairy God mother played by Akansha Malge and Hilda, the queen witch enacted by Seerat Kaur enthralled the audience with their performance.  The humour brought in by the Thirsty Crow, enacted by Gurmehar was applauded by all. 


The lyrics and music, composed and orchestrated by Kwi Suk Kang, Seyiekhrienyu Usou,  Komal Anand and Manvinder Singh brought the show alive. The dances were choreographed by the dance teacher Renu Pant. The stage was turned into a mystical Fairyland by the sets crafted by Neelu Sandhu, Nanak Kaur and Preetinder Khurana.  The play was an in-house production, adapted and directed by the Theatre teacher, Vijay Kumar along with Harsimrat Chahal and Ramandeep Kaur Grewal.
